How Puremail Works
- All the incoming (and optionally outgoing) email for an enterprise is routed through Puremail’s secure networks. This is done with a simple DNS (domain-name) mapping of your Mail-Exchange (MX) record. NO additional changes are required in your internal email systems (networks, servers and desktop settings). The entire process is completely transparent to the users and administrators.
- Each message gets thoroughly scrubbed by Puremail's advanced threat prevention system. Any unwanted email is held-back on Puremail’s quarantine servers. Therefore, all the spam, virus, and other threats are blocked by Puremail outside your perimeter, before they can harm your computers, servers, or networks. This saves time, bandwidth, and computing resources for your enterprise, while ensuring that the security and integrity of your email systems is never compromised. The users can access their blocked messages via a secure web-interface. They also get a daily quarantine report by email, with a list of all the blocked messages. If needed, users can release any desired messages from the quarantine.
- A backup copy of each message is preserved on Puremail secure servers - to ensure 24x7 email availability and disaster recovery using redundant off-site infrastructure. In the event of system failures, outages and disasters, you have immediate access to a fully integrated "standby" email system - with your inbound and outbound messages securely saved at Puremail servers.
- All good email is delivered to the destination email server. In addition, Puremail tracks each inbound and outbound message by recording extensive logs of message transport - along with time-stamp and other important forensic data. This "Audit Trail" serves as a crucial "Third-party Validation" to help with compliance and legal discovery.
- Puremail also archives your email for long-term/permanent retention - with flexible storage options (e.g. encrypted and compressed messages can be stored on near-line/off-line devices or digital media). This secure "off-site" archival provides the ultimate protection against accidental loss of important email - just in case your internal systems are compromised due to hardware failure, unintentional deletion, or deliberate foul-play.
- Puremail enables your users to download their email directly from Puremail servers - right into their inbox (OUTLOOK, SmartPhone or other IMAP enabled client). The best part is, with Puremail's "full-service" managed solution, you may not even need your own mail-servers. Even if you choose to keep your mail-servers, Puremail would offer you a redundant email infrastructure at remote “off-site” locations - with 24x7 availability. That means no more email outages during hardware failure, network problems, software crashes, power loss and other system and infrastructure problems.
Fully Compatible
Puremail is fully compatible with ALL email systems. It works seamlessly with your current email servers (e.g. MS Exchange, Lotus Notes, Sendmail, Qmail, etc.), running on any operating systems (Windows, MacOS, Unix/Linux), and all popular desktop applications (e.g. Outlook, Eudora, Apple Mail, webmail, etc.)
